I grew up in a rough neighborhood as a child, surrounded by gangs and violence. Sports were the only way I made it safely out of the hood. I became one of the top athletes in the state of Michigan in basketball and football which expanded my career to play college and professional sports as well. My professional career was very short sustaining a torn ACL/ meniscus in my right knee. My dream was to make it professionally and make enough money to move my family out of the ghetto.
At that moment of my injury I doubted myself and gave up on everything because I believed I failed. After rehab for my knee I found myself coaching and training kids to help them accomplish their dreams physically and mentally. I’ve helped a group of kids play sports in college and graduating college by helping them with their mindset of being determined to be great at everything they do.
